Yang Qian app for iPhone and iPad

This App contains Yang Qian’s series of artworks since 2003: Water Drops in Bathroom, Mobile Paintings, Double Paintings, Paper Scrap Paintings and installations.
In Mobile Paintings, a static picture becomes mobile through conduction of motor in an interactive way. The theme and content of the paintings is integrated with a proper form.
In Double Paintings, the artist alternates the daylight and UV light on the two different materials—paint and transparent fluorescence to present two pictures. Both of these two pictures are connected by concept.
In Paper Scrap Paintings, the artist makes use of scraps of collected magazines to reshape figures. He reveals the variable social relations among media, society and individuals. The concept under this series of works are also extended to the artist’s installation works.

This App also presents photographs of Yang in his sole exhibition, working in his studio as well as in life.

Yangs Artworks Show:
-Yang Qian is an alternative artist who never stops refreshing his mind. His works express new ideas in variable forms in a range from paintings, installations, sculptures to behavior art. All these works are adopted in various ways.
-He tries to expand the field of painting from two dimensions to a form that is innovatively shown with an interaction between audience and lights. Such form is available in works like Paper Scrap Paintings, Mobile Paintings and Double Paintings.
-He believes that innovation is innovative art and repeated paintings are scarified for the wealthy people.


Interesting Personal Experience:
-He was born in a a traditional intellectual family. He learn painting and playing violin in his childhood. However, he suffered from much bullying and humiliation for his parents imprisoned in cowsheds in China’s Cultural Revolution in 1960s.
-He studied in Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute before he went to the University of Florida in the USA for master degree. He lived in the USA for 17 years as a professional artist.
-His works have been shown in the exhibitions held in Europe, Northern America and Asia. Also, his works were displayed in many international biennale exhibitions, such as Biennale of Prague, Biennale of Shanghai and Biennale of Sevilla. Some of his works are collected by many large institutes.
